09/01/2023 The Network Engineer's role is to ensure the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services.
This is achieved by planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization.
In addition, the Network Engineer will participate with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links.
This individual will also analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end user training where required.

Reports consistently for work as scheduled Performs other duties as assigned Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards Collaborates with executive management and department leaders to assess near- and long-term network capacity needs Conducts research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry Configures networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records Designs and deploys company LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware including servers, storage, and virtual infrastructure Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery Ensures network connectivity of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances Interacts and negotiates with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure network products and services Manages and/or provides guidance to junior members of the team Manages servers, including database, e-mail, print, and backup servers and their associated operating systems and software Monitors and tests network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports Monitors network performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed Oversees installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices Oversees new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades Participates in managing all network security solutions Performs server and security audits, and system backups and recovery Practices network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to analyze and problem-solve Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from many diverse backgrounds and professions including supervisors, administrators, coworkers, staff, students, parents, and the general public Ability to follow oral and written instructions Ability to greet and interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language Ability to troubleshooting hardware Competence with testing tools and procedures for voice and data circuits Detail-oriented Energetic, creative, innovative, flexible Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws Strong customer service orientation Strong organizational, interpersonal, written, listening, and verbal communication skills Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including DOS/Windows computer systems and mobile devices Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including TCP/IP, SIP, BGP, eBGP/iBGP, OSPF, SNMP, etc Working technical knowledge of MAC-based computer systems, Linux/Unix computer systems and telephony systems, including; PBX, DS1, DS3, T-1 and the ShoreTel/Mitel solution Work Environment:

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, electrical engineering or related field 3-5 Years Experience managing applications and/or systems management 3-5 Years Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment 3-5 Years Extensive application support experience with; Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, InTune, Aruba AirWave, Aruba ClearPass, PaloAlto Global Protect, and more 3-5 Years Experience and success with LAN, WAN, WLAN, and WWAN design and implementation 3-5 Years Experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices Compensation Range:
$73,700-$83,700 (Based on job relevant experience at 100% FTE) Scheduled Weekly Hours:
