Senior Software RF/SATCOM Engineer
Mount Indie is seeking a Senior Software RF/SATCOM Engineer to design, develop, and implement software solutions for our satellite communications interference detection, characterization, and geolocation system.
The successful candidate will demonstrate extensive knowledge in the domains of:
Radio Frequency, Satellite Communications, on-premises computer systems, and software development.
Principal Duties and Responsibilitieso Develop and optimize algorithms and full stack processes related to RF/satcom interference detection, characterization, and geolocation.
o Guide, participate in, and troubleshoot software deployments on rack equipment including networking, connections between software services, and hardware interfaces.
o Investigate and adapt to the complexities and needs of legacy systems running alongside newly developed systems.
o Participate in defining the architecture of future generations of the system.
o Participate in the full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and debugging.
o Support integration development and testing between systems of diverse makeup.
o Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current technology trends, emerging technologies, and industry standards in satellite communications and RF technology.
o Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members.
Required Experienceo Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
o Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development and RF/satcom engineering.
o Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS-SCI security clearance; US citizenship required.
o Extensive knowledge of RF signal processing, modulation techniques, error control coding, and RF systems.
o Proficiency in software development languages including C++, Python, Bash, and JavaScript.
o Proficiency with Linux.
o Strong problem-solving abilities, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
o Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
o Excellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Qualificationso A Master's Degree in a related field.
o Current TS secret clearance.
o Experience with Software Defined Radios (SDRs).
o A strong background in networking including container/cluster networking.
o Knowledge of SATCOM geolocation techniques.
o Experience with embedded development.
o Experience with web app development.
o Knowledge of machine learning applications in RF signal processing.
