Air Force, Space Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II.
JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, space and weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
For work specific to Colorado Springs, JT4 supports the National Space Test and Training Complex (NSTTC) -- Electronic Domain portion of the range.
Job Summary -- Essential Functions/DutiesAn Engineering Technician VI works as the unit lead or senior technician and independently provides support to the engineering and design staff by performing a variety of complex, broadly-scoped assignments during the installation, maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, fabrication, construction, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications.
Employee has considerable latitude for independent actions, which require ingenuity and creativity in the performance of work.
Will provide supervision, oversite and support of systems, integration and test engineering activities for the Transportable Range Operations Center (TROC) and associated/related sub-systems and equipment.
Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:
Serve as the senior/lead engineering technician and assist in the training of other technicians Install, monitor, and service equipment and systems at the company and client sites Perform or coordinate test and evaluation, check-out, and certification tasks Perform validations/verifications of various electronic systems Design and write test procedures, critiques, and system test procedures and assist in the development of upgrades and enhancements.
Develop, update and maintain engineering documents and artifacts in support of systems, integration and test engineering.
Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports and status updates on engineering projects Oversee implementation of engineering change instructions Investigate system problems and provide white papers on the results of the investigation Prepare recommendations and solutions on system problems to include alternate testing to verify change Train others in the operation and performance of the system(s) Establish and maintain filing systems, databases, and logs for tracking project status and inventory Perform as a primary on-site customer interface for equipment/system installation, testing, fabrication, and other engineering tasks Comply with engineering documentation standards, engineering plans, system specifications, and test procedures Provide technical data and evaluation for components, equipment, and systems consistent with engineering plans, layout, and contract requirements Coordinate and supervise a team of employees for a given job with the responsibility for scheduling tasks and monitoring technical and employee performance Support engineers in the development of technical proposals and provide input on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work Provide subject matter expert technical support that is recognized in a narrow aspect of a particular field of engineering Use established policies and procedures and subject matter knowledge to complete complex assignments that vary in nature and sequence Perform other job-related duties, as requiredOther ResponsibilitiesEach employee must read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to their job.
Working ConditionsWork is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards.
Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting with occasional use of computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.
Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
Requirements -- Education, Technical, and Work ExperienceVocational/technical training beyond high school from an academic institution, or military equivalent training and a minimum of 12 years of job-related experience are required for this position.

SALARYThis position provides the AWD rate of $38.
