Senior Network Engineer with Security Clearance

Position Description Exciting opportunity to support operations and continued enhancement of a test range for configuring and testing power systems in a real world, high voltage environment.
Work closely with range manager, power engineers, and electricians to ready the range for test operations, collect instrumentation data, and support post-test data reduction.
Implement specialized networks to satisfy range user test requirements.
Opportunity to think out of the box and develop unique solutions to support operations focused on protection of power assets.
Range located on Fort Carson, south of Colorado Springs, with opportunity for hybrid/remote engineering support from the metropolitan area, and on premises during test setup, execution, and post-test teardown.
This is a full-time opportunity located in Colorado Springs, CO MINIMUM/GENERAL
Experience:
Comprehensive understanding of hardwired and wireless fiber (Wi-Fi) network services and networksIn-depth understanding and practical knowledge of networking sytems such as LAN, switches, firewalls, routers, and end-user devicesAbility to analyze/evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficientlyAbility to design, implement and troubleshoot network, Wi-Fi, and security infrastructureAbility to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementationAbility to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminologyCandidate must be capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-team environment.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:
In this role you will:
Design/Build supporting network infrastructure (data and communications) IAW DoD standardsMaintain computer network switches, routers, VPNs, firewalls and other physical hardwareInstall and configure network equipmentCreate firewalls and update virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protectedMonitor systems to improve network performance for all systemsTroubleshoot, resolve, and communicate networking issues to other employees and managementImplement disaster recovery proceduresMaintain current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company and customer systemsDocument designs and infrastructure IAW prescribed DoD Architecture and drawings (including, but not limited to rack elevations, cable data bases, etc.

Bachelor's degree in STEM related specialty; education requirement may be waived for experience with appropriate certificationsCertifications:

Experience/deep familiarity with Juniper, Cisco, commercial and government (DoD) networking systems, commercial and government (DoD) Internet systemsFamiliarity with and ability to create documentation IAW DoD Architecture standardsLOCATION:
