Colorado Springs, CO Job Description L3Harris is seeking an experienced RF engineer to support multiple programs in its Space and Airborne Systems divisionThe engineer will be responsible for leading Technical Subcontract design management and RF Systems design, development, and testingThe individual should be versed in the complete design life cycle.
o Determine design approaches and parameters.
o Perform system analysis to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
o Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results.
o Select components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
o Perform simulations and present design reviews to peer engineers.
o Generate schematics, route, and layout PCBs.
o Evaluates customer and operational needs to help define and coordinate system performance requirements to internal stakeholders and integrate technical parameters.
o Ability to assess and provide direction for make/buy decisions and selection of strategic suppliers.
o Executes technical responsibilities within project cost and schedule constraints.
o Perform system design/analysis, SWaP analysis, and procurement
Essential Functions:
o Perform Phased Array Radar RF hardware development, such as Low Noise Amplifiers, High Power Amplifiers, Frequency Converters, and Frequency Synthesizers.
o RF/Microwave Device testing and evaluation including s-parameter, large signal load pull characterization as well as modulated signal measurements.
o Must have familiarity with common commercial RF design and analysis tools to design and analyze RF circuits and systems (i.
e.
, ADS, HFSS, CST, MATLAB, etc.
)o Analyze electrical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
o Select equipment and construct test benches to evaluate designs to specifications.
o Evaluates customer and operational needs to help define and coordinate system performance requirements to internal stakeholders and integrate technical parameters.
o Ability to assess and provide direction for make/buy decisions and selection of strategic suppliers.

Qualifications:
o Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 2 years of related experienceo Active Secret Security Clearance Preferred Additional Skills:
o Experience with customer interface and creating presentations, perform trade studies, design reviews and RF oriented test activities.
o Knowledge of and ability to perform cascade and link budget analysis of Gain, Noise Figure, Noise Power, Intercept Point, output power, etc.
o RF System Requirements and Proposal generation and support In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $73,00.
