Responsibilities:
Individual and Group Counseling:
Provide individual and group counseling services to students to address emotional, behavioral, and social challengesCollaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to develop and implement effective intervention strategiesCrisis Intervention:
Respond promptly to crises and emergencies, providing immediate support to students and collaborating with school staff to implement crisis intervention plansAssessment and Planning:
Conduct assessments to identify the social and emotional needs of studentsDevelop and implement comprehensive intervention plans, including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needsAdvocacy and Resource Coordination:
Advocate for students' needs within the school system and communityCollaborate with external agencies and community resources to connect students and families with appropriate support servicesParent and Community Engagement:
Foster positive relationships with parents, guardians, and the communityConduct workshops and informational sessions to educate parents on social and emotional well-being topicsCollaboration with School Staff:
Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to create a supportive and inclusive school environmentProvide consultation to educators on effective classroom management and behavior interventionsDocumentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions, assessments, and interventionsGenerate reports for school administrators and participate in relevant meetings
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work with a focus on school social workState licensure as a School Social Worker in ColoradoPrevious experience in a school setting preferredStrong communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of relevant laws and regulations pertaining to school social workWhy Contract with Spindle?
