Position Summary
Support local and remote customers' systems vital to national security. Maintain critical systems and think forward to develop new systems. Design methods to relocate systems between facilities.
Responsibilities
Windows 2008 R2 Domains to include file, print and
database services
Track outages and purchases greatly reducing response times to customers.
Installation, maintenance and support of VMware ESX, VMware ESXi, VMware
VSphere, and VMware VCenter (VMware Infrastructure 3 (VI3), VMware
Infrastructure 3 (VI3.5), VSphere 4.0, VSphere 4.1, and VSphere 5.1)
Administer and Engineer the best practices with EMC DataDomain
Deduplication/DDBoost products to ensure network faults and data integrity
for backups
Engineer and administer VMware High Availability (HA), Distributed
Resource Scheduler (DRS), Fault tolerance and VMotion on various versions of
VCenter, ESX and ESXi.
Installation, maintenance and license support of analytical software
suites to include Matlab,STK,Tableau,Python,SGI
Installation, maintenance and support of Microsoft Server 2003, 2008 and
2008 R2
Installation, maintenance and support of Microsoft SQL Server 2005, 2008
and 2008 R2
Installation, maintenance and support of Linux Redhat 5.8 Ent, Redhat 6.4
Ent, Suse 11 Ent
Engineer and administer Failover Clusters for Microsoft SQL Server and
Microsoft Windows File Servers
Installation, maintenance and support of UNIX, IRIX, SUSE and Redhat
Enterprise Linux servers
Execution, maintenance and control of an EMC CLARiiON NX4 SAN, EMC Celerra
NAS and a NEXSAN maintenance. Engineer and utilize QLogic fibre host bus
adapters (HBA) network, iSCSI, QLogic SANBox and Brocade Silkworm switches
to include Switch Zoning, LUN provisioning, and clustering.
Deploy and maintain the backup system employing tape backup libraries and
Symantec VERITAS NetBackup 6.5, 7.0 and 7.1, 7.5 suites utilizing Overland
and Spectra Storage Robotic Tape libraries.
Setup, patch and maintain Cisco Catalyst 3750 and Nexus 5000 Ethernet
Switches according to Standards and best practices.
Perform cable terminations for SC, fiber optic cables, ST fiber cables and
CAT 5e cables
Perform Network monitoring and control of Microsoft System Center 2007 and
2010
Perform offline patch maintenance in Windows Server Update Services (WSUS)
when required
Engineer and design server clustering for multi-processing nodes based on
software and hardware requirements
Perform load balancing of network servers to ensure backend and frontend
connections are operating correctly for optimal data transmission
Engineer and design network upgrades for the expansion of future mission
requirements
Research new technologies and designs on tech refresh projects to ensure
project requirements are met
Ensure all SLA requirements are maintained by software and hardware
vendors
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
Active Top Secret clearance
CCNA certification
At least 3 years working with servers, helpdesk, workstations and customer interactions
Able to work under minimal supervision as needed
Detail-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Networking, Computer Science, or related discipline
Microsoft, VMware, and other certifications a strong plus
