Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
Required Skills and Education
Designs and optimize virtualization configurations & topologies. Analyzes requirements and prepares specifications for hardware acquisitions. Develops hardware installation schedules. Prepares test and after action reports. Configures virtualized servers, software, virtualized desktops, and peripheral equipment. Installs servers & network hardware. Trains site personnel in proper use of hardware. Must be willing to perform shift work and possibly work on-call schedule.
Will require Poly with 90days of hire.
Preferred Skills and Education
Windows, VMware, Citrix, NetApp, Red Hat Linux, AppSense, Microsoft System Center, Microsoft AppV and ThinApp. 2 years experience supporting and testing enterprise applications in an MS Windows 2003/2008, Visual and MSSQL Server environment. Proficient in, analyzing, and troubleshooting operating platform/connectivity problems. Working knowledge of MS Windows Server 2003/2008, Distributed File System (DFS), and MS-SQL Server 2005, Active Directory, integrated DNS and AD replication is required.
