Systems Engineer-IT Sr
Job Description :
This operator position is on the new JICSpOC operations floor at Schriever AFB managing the Space Situational Awareness Services capability. The candidate will provide subject matter expertise on the iSpace Platform involving SSA daily system monitoring and operations of the JICSpOC systems in an operations and test environment. The candidate will provide first level technical support to the warfighter and perform initial troubleshooting of all local iSpace hardware, software and networks. The candidate will document and report all events/issues to the program office and receive tasking and direction from the government for all operations, test & real world events.
Performs other duties and assignments as required such as training Air Force personnel on the use and operation of the iSpace platform.
Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of Orbital Dynamics and Space Domain (IOD, Differential Correction, Propagation)
Desired skills
Knowledge of Space Object Characterization, RCS plots, Vmag Plots, Frequency Plots
Experience in system and/or network administration (UNIX, Linux, Windows, Cisco).
Software support/installation experience as well as knowledge of 24x7 operations and maintenance processes.
Experience in troubleshooting hardware and software components.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Successful experience working directly with a military customer.
