This Technical Expert (TE) Field Service Engineer position involves managing, coordinating and providing the 10th Special Forces Command and designated United States forces on- and off-site Communications and Electronics (C-E) engineering, technical, maintenance and repair, and Life Cycle Support (LCS) services for their C-E systems, subsystems, equipment and ancillaries. As onsite support at Fort Carson, the Field Service Engineer will serve as the team leader, applying knowledge of and experience with technological, programmatic, program management or business fields to support the analysis and accomplishment of systems engineering, system technology, support systems, project management, and support tasks.
Responsibilities will also include managing/providing specialized C-E engineering, technical and LCS assistance to United States Special Operations Forces (SOF) in the analysis, maintenance, training, operation and employment of their Radio Integration System (RIS), Family of Special Operations Vehicles (FOSOV), and other specialized C-E systems. This assistance will involve the use and application of specialized test equipment, tools and software that are unique to the systems, subsystems, equipment and ancillaries being supported. Will provide technical support and training on Audio Video and Video Teleconferencing (AV/VTC) Systems involving the installation, life cycle sustainment and limited programming of these systems.
The Field Service Engineer will have specialized training, knowledge and experience in the operation, troubleshooting and maintenance/repair of SOF C-E systems, subsystems, equipment and ancillaries in order to successfully plan, provide and manage technical support efforts for such forces. Additionally, a thorough understanding of command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) architectures and IT architectures, employed by United States conventional and SOF military forces is an essential requirement for this assignment. Independent systems analysis and troubleshooting will also be required to include Information Professional and Audio Video/Video Teleconferencing experience. Responsibilities will include development, maintenance and oversight of databases to track system operational and maintenance trends, technical effectiveness, and compatibility/interoperability with other C-E systems.
The Field Service Engineer will additionally be responsible for providing technical reports to the United States commands and forces being supported. Responsibilities will also include leading, coordinating and supporting analysis and field engineering teams in evaluating requirements for, preparing and implementing approved system level engineering change proposals, modifications and upgrades, to include related system training. Provision of these services will require specific technical knowledge and experience in the systems/subsystems being supported. Travel within the United States, will be required, as will significant recurring interaction with United States conventional and SOF forces within the Fort Carson Area of Responsibility.
This position is located at Fort Carson, CO. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Fort Carson or surrounding areas.
