Software Engineer Senior
Description:This position is for a Java software development engineer on the Space Fence Mission software team. The Space Fence radar has been operationally accepted, but will require some degree of sustainment in coming contract options in addition to expected Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
The engineer will be joining a fast-paced team that will decompose problems into solvable pieces and translate those solutions into software code. No travel required but travel may be available if interested. The candidate must be a critical thinker and demonstrate problem-solving skills. The candidate must be a team player, possess good time-management skills, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master's degree.
Software engineering and software development with strong Java experience.
Experience and knowledge of basic software practices such as coding standards and configuration management.
Experience with Eclipse integrated development environment.
Experience using Microsoft Office products.
Desired Skills:
Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasking is highly desirable.
Experience with one or more of the following:
Space Domain, Red Hat Linux maintenance, JEE, JBOSS, ArtemisMQ, Java Messaging Service, Eclipse framework, REST Services, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, TCPIP Socket programming, JUNIT, GIT for source control, JIRA for bug tracking, Oracle database administration, Postgres Database administration.
Candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to work effectively in a rapid paced, team environment.
