Intelligence Operations Specialist

This Intelligence Operations Specialist position is located in the Threat Analysis Division ( TAD), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include but are not limited to:
Monitors, researches, reports, and initiates products and briefings on multiple, varying, complex specialized threat and/or risk information relating to transportation equities for TSA operational components, private industry and/or foreign transportation security stakeholders, at headquarters and/or in the field, enabling customers to implement new rules, regulations, and policies in response to evolving threats. Work is performed independently, with minimal direction of the supervisor, who monitors work progress via status reports and at completion; work is reviewed for alignment with, and effectiveness in meeting customer requirements, and compliance with Office requirements, procedures and practices. Initiates, performs, and reviews complex, specialized analyses of intelligence reports attacks, or incidents affecting transportation. Interprets and assesses information and data to identify trends, patterns, linkages, and draw conclusions based on current and past intelligence and events to advance TSA's understanding of threats to transportation, and inform development of new TSA operational rules, regulations, and policies. General guidance for carrying out work is available in the form of broad policies that allow discretion for developing new and innovative approaches to conduct analyses and develop reports and other products. Identifies novel trends in intelligence reporting that could have strategic impacts on TSA decisions, operations, and organizational objectives in the future. Recognizes interrelationships and linkages with other Divisions and Offices and assesses potential impact(s); elevates issues and concerns to senior leadership when appropriate. Serves as the Office's senior technical expert and provides executive-level briefings to TSA senior leaders, industry stakeholders (at the executive level), and congressmen. Identifies challenges and problems in TSA's intelligence processes that inhibit accomplishment of I&A or TSA organizational objectives; conceives, develops, recommends and initiates process improvements; evaluates results for effectiveness. Monitors intelligence reporting and initiates analysis and production aligned to TSA Priority Intelligence Requirements, Office objectives and requirements, and emerging customer requests. To qualify for the SV-X Pay Band(equivalent to GS-XX), you must have one year of specialized experience at the SV-X or GS-XX in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as:
Experience applying intelligence concepts, guides and methodologies to identify threats directed at transportation infrastructure; Experience participating in collaborative analytical endeavors, facilitating the publication of analytic products with minimal guidance; Experience applying intelligence and analytical processes to perform and enhance analyses of emerging terrorist tactics and threats; and Experience interpreting raw and finished intelligence products/reports to determine the appropriate audience for their use. Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
