IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

This position is TERM NTE 2 years and may be extended up to 6 years without further competition. Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 2 years by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions or reassignments may be extended up to maximum of five years, and may be made permanent without further competition. Position may be filled as term appointment NTE 2 years, if the candidate is not a current permanent Army employee. Term appointments may be extended up to a maximum of six years. US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience is defined as; installing security patches, running anti-virus or other utilities; implementing corrective or preventive actions associated with maintaining information technology cyber security; identifying violations, recommending corrective actions and ensuring cyber security policies and procedures are followed while working in a Medical Treatment Facility. In addition to the Minimum Qualifications, applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating the following four competencies as listed below; 1. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
