PRIVATIZED HOUSING RESIDENT ADVOCATE

Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying a wide range of federal, state, agency laws, ordinances, codes and local housing policies; analyzing data to prepare reports, evaluating privatized housing program and planning housing advocacy activities; identifying issues pertaining to privatized housing resident rights and resolving problems of housing facilities, advising resident members and their families of housing resources. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE:
Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of effective privatized housing principles, techniques and tools required to review, evaluate andmake recommendations for resolving complex housing issues to include knowledge of how facility maintenanceis coordinated, what constitutes a true facility maintenance emergency and timelines required for particularissues to be resolved. 2. Knowledge to apply qualitative and quantitative skills in resolution of issues and concerns identified by housingresident members and their dependents who lease privatized family housing. 3. Knowledge of command organizational structure and its supporting elements and programs, missions, policies,goals and philosophies to include knowledge of process to assess tenant complaints regarding maintenanceresponse times and adequate completion of maintenance requests that meet the installation goals. 4. Knowledge of process improvement techniques such as benchmarking, metric/statistical analysis and dataanalysis to project future trends. Skill to develop innovative and feasible solutions to complex issues in whichthe boundaries are broad and difficult to determine in advance. 5. Skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to a broad range of functional areas relatedto privatized housing. Ability to accommodate and resolve diverse and often conflicting opinions to makeresponsive decisions and select a course of action in a fast paced environment. 6. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to conduct briefings and workshops;ability to create effective marketing materials and to present information to senior leadership. PART-TIME OR UNPAID

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
